This little gem of a coin has a great story behind it. It’s a token of our country’s support for the United Nations, and was created in 1948 to be used as the cost of a passport. I love my us 2 cent coin, and it is still in circulation.
I have to admit, I like it. The coin itself is a beautiful piece of metal, but the story behind it is pretty interesting. Back in the day, there were two types of passports: a gold/silver/bronze type that was issued to Americans, and a blue/green/red type that was issued to European (and other) countries. The old passport system wasn’t very good at all, and was often counterfeited.
The us 2 cent coin is a different story. It was created in 1948 and issued to citizens in the United States. The us 2 cent coin was created to replace the goldsilverbronze type passports and be used to pay for flights, hotel stays, car rentals, and other transactions.
The us 2 cent coin has since been phased out of circulation around the rest of the world, but it was reintroduced into America in 1993, after a successful campaign by the National Travel Association. In 2008, it was made illegal again (under a Federal law called the Travel Ban) to purchase a us 2 cent coin in the United States.
I’m not sure if the us 2 cent coin was a success, but it’s certainly been a big hit in the United States. A US study found that since the us 2 cent coin was introduced to the market, more than 2.8 million people in the country have used it in the past year. It’s a little odd that a coin that had such an amazing history was phased out of circulation in the United States.

The us 2 cent coin was introduced to the market in 2011, and the coins sold at an incredible $1,000 per coin. It certainly seems as if a coin that had such an amazing history was phased out of circulation in the United States.

This appears to be a coin that was phased out of circulation in the United States. The coin was introduced in 2011, but just a year later was phased out of circulation, making it all the more disappointing when we learn that the actual us 2 cents could not be used during that time span.
I’m still not sure how the coin got into circulation. It’s hard to believe that a coin that had such a long history and so many uses, such amazing coin designs, and such incredible features could be phased out of circulation so quickly. Now, the coins are sold for $1.00, but just a year ago, the coins sold for $2.00, and now they sell for as much as $5.00.
