So, I have been thinking about how I could design my home to be more like a piece of property. I came across this article about the three levels of territorial design and just really liked it. I have seen many home improvement and architecture blogs and magazines where the writer has shared a design idea that seems to be a step up from the typical, but is still fairly close. I thought I would share a few ideas, to help you get started.
This is actually the first time I have ever considered the idea of a “territorial design” home. A lot of the time, we’re just trying to make sure that we have a home that is functional, practical, and has some level of privacy.
Territorial design is a great concept, and I have seen many examples of it in other places. The first thing that will probably jump out at you is the idea of having a separate room for each person in your life. This can be very practical, and many small, medium, and large homes have this idea. A separate room for your spouse, your children, your parents, and your dog, for example.
In reality, separate rooms are usually reserved for people that don’t have children, and as a result, most of the home is full of people that are not your spouse, aren’t your kids, aren’t your parents, and aren’t your dog. The idea of having a separate room for other people is just a symptom of the fact that most people aren’t thinking about their own needs in the same way.
Territorial design is a really tricky thing. We are all territorial creatures. We like to think that we are all the same, but are actually not. We have all different needs that we all have to be able to satisfy. So when a person wants to be in a house with just her, his, and her dog, it is a symptom that the house is full of people that are not them, or not even in the same place.
So while other people are not the same as you, a housefull of people that are not them is a symptom of the fact that your house is full of people you don’t like because you only like people you can see. It is a symptom of the fact that you have a lot of other people living in your house.
Yes, this is a common dilemma. For example, if you have a pet bunny that only goes out for a walk, it is a symptom that you have lots of other bunny’s living in your house. This is a problem because you need to get rid of the other rabbits because you only like the one you have.
The same goes for the problem we are all facing with our house. People who are not you – those people who live at your house, or even other people you don’t know, are also a symptom that you have a lot of other people in your house.
Like the bunny, the problem with having lots of people in your house is that you need to get rid of them all for a while to solve this problem. That happens when you don’t have enough space.
I think this is the main problem with territorial design. The other rabbits are people who are not you. To solve the problem of your house being overcrowded, you need to let the other people who are not you in your house.
