I have been known to not only wear a ring, but also take it off. Most often, I wear a wedding ring, but I have also worn one for the past 9 years and I still wear it occasionally. It never wears out.
For someone who has probably worn it for at least a decade, it is worth noting that Obama’s ring is actually still in its original box. It’s a silver band with several of Obama’s initials on it. On this ring, he not only has his initials, but also his seal. His seal is a blue circle with the first two letters of his name on its center. The letters aren’t super-thin, but the oval shape definitely gives it a strong resemblance to a real seal.
That’s right. His seal (the blue mark) is actually the same color as his initials. Obamas seal is actually the same shape as his initials, and the oval shape is the same size. So he really doesn’t look like a real seal at all, and probably wouldn’t have been able to if he had been born a mere 100 years ago.
Yeah, I saw that, and it kinda shocked me as I knew that the seal on Obamas real seal was blue. But the fact that his seal was the same color as his initials made it even more shocking to me. The shape was super odd, the color is odd, and the oval shape is odd.
The oval shape was apparently a coincidence, but there are other reasons that are more interesting. Obamas seal is actually a special kind of seal; it’s a gold-plated, diamond-encrusted, double-ended eternity ring. It’s incredibly durable and beautiful, and it’s also a very useful tool with which to sneak around and find people’s secrets.
The shape of Obama’s seal is something I have always wondered about. Since this was a presidential seal, I would imagine that the shape of his seal was also influenced by this.
The seal is made of a material called “gold,” which is basically a metal that has been shaped into the shape of the letter “O”. Gold is one of the strongest metals on the planet (except for the rare “mono-metals” like uranium), but unlike gold it doesn’t tarnish easily. The seal is usually engraved with a picture from the President’s life and then set into the ring.
The Obama seal was taken from President Obama’s personal seal, which was also made of gold, but the two were not identical. Because the two were not identical, the seal was designed to look like the President, but because the shape of the seal was different than the President’s, the seal was not designed to be a President ring. The seal is only used in the Presidential Seal (the one that is used for official state visits), and not on other official documents.
According to some of the other pictures that were released earlier this week, the President’s personal seal was made of gold, but the gold seal also had a gold “T” on it. It’s not clear if this T was on the gold seal, but it’s possible that it was. If it is, it would be the first time a President has ever used gold on a ring.
It would be cool if the President of the United States used the gold seal on the official rings, but it would be a first for a President, and something about the seal itself is pretty intriguing. Its like the seal is a reminder of the powers these presidents have, and the fact that you can’t unring it is telling.
