My friends, when I tell them the story about this interior, most of them can’t believe it. I’ve been trying to figure this out since I bought the 2007 Honda CR-V. I’ve had three attempts before I finally got it to build up enough confidence to finally take the plunge and get it painted. I’ve wanted to get it done, and I finally am.
The last time I bought a new CR-V, I had painted the front and back. Although the interior is a whole ‘nother matter.
The interior of the 2007 Honda CR-V is the least of the concerns. Honda did an admirable job of hiding the CR-V’s interior from view. It’s dark, it’s cramped, and it’s black. It’s a tough interior, but if you look just right, you can almost make out the interior trim. It’s a shame that Honda didn’t take the time to paint the interior, or at least give it a more interesting front end.
A couple of years ago Honda released a color-changing CR-V, but the interior was the same black and gray as the old model. The difference is that the new CR-Vs front and rear seats were made of leather in a color that was only available on the 2007 model. The color change is actually seamless, so you can hardly tell the old and new interior apart.
While it’s possible that the color change was done to allow Honda to keep the CR-V in production, it seems that the company is probably just saving money by getting rid of the old CR-V’s front seat and going with the leather version. The rest of the interior has been treated with the same basic paint job as the old CR-V.
The interior is as colorful as ever. The only real change that this year is the addition of a few more colors (a new yellow-red-blue combo, and a new “halloween” black-blue), but its still not too bad. The only real difference is that the color choices don’t really make any sense anymore.

And the other thing I noticed, while I was looking through the interior photos, was that the interior looked much more spacious and roomy in the CR-V interior. A big fan of all-new Honda’s like myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the interior of this car didn’t look that much different than the CR-V interior.
