I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Chris and his wife, Jessica, who both own and operate a design studio that specializes in home renovation. I asked them a number of questions about their process and their design process, and it turned out the process they follow for creating their designs is a little different than the average person.
While I’m not a huge fan of the process, I think I’ve learned a thing or two from them. They make it very clear that they’re not trying to make their designs look cool. They want to make sure that their designs work effectively and that they’re able to convey that to others. They also don’t shy away from being a little bit more hands on with their design process. They’re not going to make their designs look cool in a cookie cutter way either.
The reason why Im not a fan of the designs process is because theyre not very hands on. Ive had a few of them say things like, “What if I messed up and it looks like crap?” or “What if I made this design that looks like shit?” It just makes it very clear that theyre not trying to make all their designs look cool. They want to make sure that their designs work effectively and that theyre able to convey that to others.
I like the concept of having a design person do a rough sketch, but I think its more effective if you hire someone like my friend Jim to do the design. You can hire a designer on the side, but you can hire a designer who has been able to do a rough sketch and then make adjustments, tweak, and improve it.
I think I can speak for everyone when I say that a design person is very useful. A design person can get you started quickly and help you to understand what you are trying to convey in the design.
Jim, who has designed a lot of games, believes that a designer should be a self-starter. I agree. It makes sense from a business perspective too. A designer should be able to design the game you want, and give it to you in a way that is consistent with your play style. And in his experience, a designer who has been able to design a game that is consistent with his play style is much more likely to stick around.
Chris did this game for the first and only time when he designed it for himself. Which shows he has a strong sense of play style and design, and a very high level of self-awareness. He is a man who can really design and iterate a game that he likes. When people ask him about designing a game, he can really talk about how he designs it and even give you ideas of things to make.
When I asked him about designing a game, he was more or less honest. He is a man who enjoys writing about games and is able to think and design in a way that most people can’t. He is a man who really is able to think about design for many different aspects of games and make it work for him. He is a man who can really think and design for a huge variety of things, and it makes him a very good designer.
With his game design skills comes a great ability to make great games. In fact, Chris is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of game design. The thing that strikes me the most about him is that he has a lot of ideas in regards to what he can make. He doesn’t just want to make a space shooter; he wants to make a full-blown RPG. He wants to make something that has its own identity.
For anyone who wants to design great games, Chris is the guy. He will always be one of the best.
