cherished furniture

Like other people, I love my furniture. I think that we all love our furniture. I know that I love my bed, TV, and my room. I just think that all of these things are important and that they are the most important things. I know that I don’t need to spend a lot of money to have a nice home, but I do like to have a nice home. I love having my bookshelves, my kitchen counter, and my office.

Unfortunately, the way we think about our furniture and homes is fundamentally flawed. I’m sure we all know someone who owns and uses a bed that looks like the one in the above picture and still has a great night’s sleep. It’s also okay that we don’t see how important furniture is to our homes. If we don’t see how it affects our lives, then we probably won’t care.

So why do we assume that the furniture of our homes makes us better people? Well, some people (like you) have a few nice pieces of furniture in their home and consider it a nice home. But it’s not a nice home, and there is a lot of crap in them. The furniture in someone’s home is not going to make them a better person but rather a happier one.

You’ll know when people start to get a bit crazy about the fact that they don’t have nice pieces of furniture in their homes. They’re getting into a habit of thinking that the furniture somehow makes them happy. And that’s okay. Because it’s not.

We’re all guilty of this. If we’re not careful, we may start buying things that are in our home as a sign that we’re happy. The truth is that the stuff we buy to make us happy can actually cause us to be unhappy. Think of the things we buy that turn out to be the end of our relationships. Think of the things we buy that make us feel like we can’t do anything without them.

So what did we do to cause our stuff to feel the way it does to us? I mean really. Think about the things you own that make you feel lonely and worthless. The clothes we wear. The way we put our hair or our face. The way we eat. The things we wear that we can never take off or wash.

When it comes to the things that make us feel the way we do, you could always give our stuff back. I know in life we often find a way to take something that was once truly ours and make it something that no longer belongs to us. There is a really great book by James Altucher called The Stuff We Fear.

Well it’s not just stuff we buy that makes us feel like shit though. When we feel like shit it’s not just because we have an aching ego that we feel we can never have anything new. It’s because we have something we really love and are afraid to let go of. This is why we get angry and frustrated when we’re told by friends we can’t have our favorite pair of jeans.

Our favorite pair of jeans is one of life’s great gifts. It can be a pair of jeans that we were able to wear with pride and comfort for years (especially if we were on the road). Or it can be a pair of jeans that we have worn so many times that we just can’t face ourselves wearing them. Because they are our cherished possessions, they are our most important possessions. They cannot be replaced.

It’s not just the jeans that we love, we love everything we can put our hands to. We are obsessed with our favorite t-shirts, our favorite socks, our favorite socks, our favorite T-shirts, our favorite shirts, our favorite socks, our favorite jeans. We are obsessed with the shoes we wear. We are obsessed with the clothes we wear. We are obsessed with the car we drive. We are obsessed with the food we eat.
