This quote is not at all about starting small, but about making large goals, big dreams. Not because you should run from them, but because you can’t. The bigger you make your goals, the more likely they are to be achieved.
I’m not sure I agree with this quote, but I believe that in order to truly learn to love something, you have to give away something that in turn makes you love it more. You might start by giving your possessions away, but you have to sacrifice something else in order for you to love it.
I like to think that it is what you give away that makes you love it more. I have given away my possessions numerous times to friends and family, but in the end, I would rather have them be given to me than have them given away. I know that in giving away my possessions I have created a lot of “things” that I can call my own, but in the end we are all just human and have our own needs, desires, and wants.
For example, I’ve given away my most prized possessions, my collection of gold coins. I treasure these coins and I want to see them returned to me. Not because I’m greedy, but because I want to be truly satisfied and have a good memory of what they were before my gift. It’s sort of like a treasure hunt.
