It’s been a tough year for Best Buy. Along with many other companies, they’ve faced hardship because of the coronavirus that spread across the Middle East and Europe in early 2018.
Many people have lost their jobs, families are struggling to find food and water, but there is one thing that has remained true: The Brand With A Purpose remains committed to its mission of helping people find the technology solutions they need for today’s world.
We hope you’ll join us on the journey as Best Buy Fort Collins not only recovers from this crisis, but joins together to help others in need. Here are 14 ways that Coronavirus has changed how we think about The Brand With A Purpose:
Stores and distribution centers have been closed for days at a time. This means our employees cannot work or make money without their paychecks.
Best Buy is committed to helping them during these difficult times by covering lost wages so they can support their families while still focusing on earning new skills like resume writing and interviewing tips, free of charge through its ‘Reinventing You’ program (find out more here).
Employees traveling internationally may be delayed with a long-awaited vacation.
The company is providing financial assistance for their expenses so they can still enjoy time with loved ones during this difficult time.
Shoppers may be concerned about the safety of products on Best Buy shelves, which could lead to a decline in sales and revenue for our stores nationwide.
We encourage customers who are nervous about purchasing from us to simply ask an associate at checkout – we have always been committed to quality and will not sell any unsafe product that has come into contact with the virus or its bodily fluids such as blood, saliva, pus or vomit! We also offer free disinfection services for all items you’ve purchased through your store’s Geek Squad Protection plan to address customer concerns over possible contamination.
The virus has been found in the respiratory systems of pigs, and is therefore entering our food supply as a result – meaning that we need to be more diligent about cooking all meats thoroughly before consuming them.
We recommend using an instant read thermometer for accurate results! Cooking temperatures vary depending on what you’re cooking, so please refer to this chart:
Expected Doneness Temp (°F)
Poultry 165 ° F/ 74 ° C
Ground Meat 160 ° F / 71 °C
