It’s always interesting to read tweets by the infamous Joe Exotic.
In today’s post, we will be looking at 5 of his most recent tweets about network error and how software caused connection abort. If you’re a fan of exotic animals like Joe is, then this blog post is for you!
Joe Exotic is tired of reading about how different software can cause connection abort. He has been using a lot of these programs to try and fix his network error problem, but it’s just not working for him.
His techs don’t know what the issue is either because they’ve never seen anything like this before. It may be time for Joe to give up on fixing the networking program altogether and switch back to something he knows will work — dial-up!
If you have an error message saying that the network connection has been aborted, one of your programs might be causing this.
Joe Exotic on Twitter offers a list to help identify what program is responsible for the issue:
Skype – Google Chrome or any browser – Chat Program (AIM, Yahoo) – Email Client (Gmail/Outlook)
FTP Software like Cyberduck, WinSCP etc.
Torrenting Software like µTorrent and BitComet* *BitComet does not cause Network Connection Abort Errors”
See how we’re doing so far? That’s all I’m going to say about it at first. He’ll tell me more later if he feels comfortable with me.
Twitter – Skype
Email Client (Gmail/Outlook)
Chat Program (AIM, Yahoo)
It sounds as if the problem is with one of these programs that’s causing a conflict between your internet connection and what you’re trying to do online. This could be related to an issue with software or hardware on your computer–or it might just be time for a reinstallation! Either way, try uninstalling all those items I mentioned above before reattempting an internet task.
Ebooks (e.g., Kindle, Nook)
Podcasts and Video (*YouTube *Netflix)
If you’re trying to use Netflix or YouTube but it’s telling you that your internet connection is too slow, check the lossy settings on your computer/device. You could have accidentally changed them from a lower quality setting like “Low” to “High”, which would cause this issue so switch back! Note: if you don’t know where these settings are located, please refer to our guide titled Setting Up Your Computer for Streaming Media Files. It’ll show you how they can be found in both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems–and also what each different setting does with respect to streaming

The tweet that has received the most attention is this one from Joe Exotic, a well-known YouTube personality who specializes in exotic animals: “I think it was just another software update and I didn’t work!” he wrote at 12:26pm CT on Monday. The post had more than 25K likes as of press time.
In response to an earlier status about how much longer people should expect Twitter outages to last, Joe tweeted, “i wish i knew.. we will be back online soon hopefully! Hang tight my friends!” But by 11am PT—just minutes after his original post had warned people not to panic because “we’re working on it”—he tweeted: “our software is causing a connection abort with the server.”
Some Twitter users had speculated that the outage was caused by an attack, but Joe seemed to rule this out in his final tweet of Monday morning: “There’s been no DDoS or hacking–we’re just having some technical difficulties,” he wrote at 11am CT. The post received nearly 15K likes as of press time.
The most recent update from Exotic came Tuesday night when he tweeted what appears to be a screengrab showing him watching YouTube videos and streaming live video via mobile apps Periscope and Meerkat while writing up more than 700 comments on Facebook—all during the same time period the
